Craig Chown has over 35 years of experience in working with local state and federal government entities. Craig worked in the Florida Legislature completing reviews of state agencies, policies, and legislative initiatives and priorities. Craig Chown served as a policy, budget, and legislative advisor to Florida Governor’s Lawton Chiles and Jeb Bush and was responsible for public safety agencies with budgets in excess of $4 billion, and served as a federal grants liaison.

Craig Chown has over 25 years experience representing private sector clients and businesses to help them navigate through local municipality, state, and federal governmental entities to secure approvals and desired results.  Examples include but are not limited to:

  • Successfully worked with 14 local, state, and federal regulatory agencies to secure permits for the first private saltwater mitigation bank on the East Coast of Florida.
  • Worked with the Florida Indian River County Commission to secure new ordinances and approvals to allow clients to be awarded county Transfer Development Rights (TDR’s) in exchange for donation of conservation lands to forever preserve about a mile of waterfront property along the Indian River Lagoon Basis. The TDR’s can be used by developers and landowners to adjust residential zoning by 20% in areas more suitable for development to meet county land use objectives.
  • Worked with the City of Tallahassee Florida to redevelop a 68,000 sq. ft. shopping center on 9 acres. This resulted in significant improvements to land use and the elimination of huge vacancy rates.
  • Worked with the City of Tallahassee to develop 100% of commercial space on the first floor of a condominium in Kleman Plaza near the Florida Capitol Building Complex.
  • Successfully implemented a public-private sector partnership by working with investors and the City of Tallahassee to renovate about 42 homes for affordable housing to enhance neighborhood revitalizations to meet city objectives.
